Hello from Honey Brook Farms

Happy New Year! Its that wonderful time of year when another page has turned in our life. How will this year be different than last year? Where do we want to be a year from now? What lasting impact will we make with our lives this year?

We’re looking forward to a fantastic 2017! Making & drinking bone broth would be an incredible addition to the year, and don’t miss this Saturday’s sale on stewing hens! Buy 1 get 1 50% off!

Incredible benefits of Bone Broth from Dr. Mercola….

Helps heal and seal your gut, and promotes healthy digestion: The gelatin found in bone broth is a hydrophilic colloid. It attracts and holds liquids, including digestive juices, thereby supporting proper digestion

Inhibits infectionย caused by cold and flu viruses, etc.: A study published over a decade ago found that chicken soup indeed has medicinal qualities, significantly mitigating infection

Reduces joint pain and inflammation, courtesy of chondroitin sulphates, glucosamine, and other compounds extracted from the boiled down cartilage

Fights inflammation: Amino acids such as glycine, proline, and arginine all have anti-inflammatory effects.
Arginine, for example, has been found to be particularly beneficial for the treatment of sepsisย (whole-body inflammation). Glycine also has calming effects, which may help you sleep better

Promotes strong, healthy bones: Bone broth contains high amounts of calcium, magnesium, and other nutrients that play an important role in healthy bone formation

Promotes healthy hair and nail growth, thanks to the gelatin in the broth

This week on the farm
A wonderful week on the farm! Joshua & Lisa finished their local move – still just around the corner from the farm :-). Derrick & Jennifer made their move too. Our annual handmade Christmas gift exchange took place Thursday evening – what a blessing all the time & creativity that went in to the many wonderful gifts given.

The first of the puppies went to their new home Friday morning with the rest scheduled to go Saturday through Tuesday. We will definitely miss the cute, bounding eager to greet you balls of fir.

We’re working on the 2017 season with orders being placed, market selection being made, and catch up on some organization.

Mama pig still hasn’t given birth and we’re also awaiting a couple pregnant cows delivery date which should also be soon.

Pruning days are around the corner. Daniel is starting work on seed lists and garden plans. Oh its a fun time of year!!
